I would describe Kayla as a Makeup and Skincare Sommelier. She is so deeply knowledgeable about both, where and how products are made, their attributes, how they work together and how they work for you and your own unique needs and coloring.

I wish I had discovered Kayla sooner. It would have saved me thousands of dollars in uninformed purchases and colors that are totally wrong for me.

Kayla spent 3+ hours at my home carefully assessing my current skincare lineup and my makeup products. During the course of my lesson, she helped me decide which items would work for me, which I could give away to my daughter, and which were simply old and dried out or totally not suited to my skin type or coloring. As she went she took notes on what to suggest for me to fill in the holes in my collection. Since she’s a makeup artist
and an esthetician, she understands and explained to me how my skin care will interact with my skin and my makeup. Thankfully she told me lash serums are made with ingredients that are endocrine disrupters. Trashed that one!

My makeup looked smashing. Since I wanted a lesson, not a makeover, we experimented with different applications on either side of my face. This helped me choose which look I’m going for and how to apply the makeup myself. She let me practice the methods so she could offer suggestions on my technique.

Kayla also educated me on “clean” beauty, “greenwashing” and how more expensive name-brands aren’t always better. She gave me tips of the trade, genius hacks to make my eyes look bigger and my lips look poutier. She dispelled makeup myths I had been trusting. She’s just at the top of her game and is a treasure trove of skills and secrets. Plus she was part therapist helping see my aging as part of life and how to work with it not against it.

A few hours later and pretty late into the night, she sent me a complete list of all her curated links to my personalized products. She offered suggestions at different price points and options for alternatives to products I have but want to try other lines. She wrote a complete step-by-step how to for applying everything she showed and taught me in the lesson. She instantly responded to my texts and email follow ups and now I feel prepared to shop for my items and put them into practice.

I no longer dread opening my makeup case. I have edited, culled and refined my entire collection.

Kayla will make you feel like a celebrity. I will definitely have her do my makeovers for events in the future. She is a true connoisseur in the field of makeup artistry and the complex world of skincare. She has terrific recommendations for skin care med salons and fashion stylists as well. Plus she was amazing with my dogs who sat at her feet-literally- while she worked on me. I’m so grateful she’s on my beauty and wellness team. Thank you, Kayla!
