Hairrari is my all time favorite lgbt-friendly and lgbt-owned hair salon in NYC! I got my hair cut by Shea (@dykecuts on social media) and they did a phenomenal job on my hair! Shea creates such a safe and fun environment, and they really listened to me and made sure I got the queer haircut of my dreams! They styled my hair at the end with the Hairrari dry shampoo powder and now it is the only dry shampoo I use!

I have not had my hair cut at a salon in 7+ years and was very nervous! Made an appointment with Kaitlyn and felt very comfortable and safe. I explained what I wanted and Kaitlyn executed my cut perfectly. My hair is naturally very curly and Kaitlyn created a perfect cut that I can wear natural or styled! Not to mention Kaitlyn also shampooed and conditioned my hair and it was quite damaged before but now feels extremely soft, bouncy and rejuvenated. I couldn’t be more happy. I can’t wait to come back! Thank you Kaitlyn and Hairrari Bushwick! ?

Shea did such a great job cutting my hair! They were so kind and patient with me as I tried to explain what I wanted and helped me find references and get exactly the cut I wanted. I felt incredibly cared for and left with a haircut which not only looks incredible but makes me feel more authentically like myself!

Ashton gave me the haircut of my dreams!!!! His attention to detail and capacity to develop a deep understanding of what his clients really want in a haircut are unparalleled. I have long, curly hair with a lot of volume, which is historically not the easiest to cut and Ashton - a true a talent and an absolute gem of a human - killed it.

I was very nervous and excited about my makeover cut, so I researched the barbershops and hairstyles I wanted. I was absolutely happy to find a queer barbershop. I wasn't sure if the haircut I wanted would fit me, but the second I sat in the chair, I felt that it was meant to be amazing. Kaitlyn is very kind and paid a lot of attention to what I was asking for (I had a lot of quirky details, by the way) and made it awesome! Highly recommended!
