Joshua is amazing at his craft. I showed up at his salon unannounced in an absolute panic after attempting to cut my own hair ( Bad idea folks in case you were considering it.) He was kind enough to see me at the end of what I know was a very long day. He was super patient with me and even let my 9 year old daughter hang out with us as he set to work. How my hair looks as good as it does after what I did to it is just unexplainable except to say that the man is really, REALLY, great at what he does. Kind of magic because he had never met me before and yet somehow, with 5 minutes notice, he intuitively knew what would work with the shape of my face. He cut it the way I would have done it myself if I had like 30 years training. When I left he told me to give it about 6 days and my hair would begin to feel better and recovered from my hacking but 2 days out I have to say it's easy to see this is gonna be one of the best haircuts I have ever had. Thank you Joshua.

Anthony and Joshua are amazing !!!! My hair color is so Beautiful and my haircut is perfection!!! I have been watching this salon on Instagram for 3 years and finally made an appointment. I’ve been seeing Josh Barbieri for balayage and cuts since 2014. I’ve followed him to various salons until he landed at his amazing oasis on Irving Place. Not only is Josh a super talented stylist, he also happens to be a really special human being. I get loads of compliments on my hair and always send people to Josh - they are never disappointed!

Stepping into Joshua Barbieri’s studio feels more like a friend’s stylish living room than a hair salon. The intimate space is curated with shelves that are lined with books and plants, walls covered in beautiful wallpaper, even the ceiling has been transformed into a clever sculpture. As you take it all in, Joshua offers you an herbal tea while discussing a cut and color that suits you. The experience is fun and laid-back. He’s a talented stylist that’s also warm and witty, and you’ll walk out with your best hair ever that’s easy to maintain and natural-looking. It’s why I keep returning.

Joshua Barbieri is my new favorite salon. I have been a few times now and the space is relaxing with a very friendly and inviting atmosphere. I had the best haircut and received several compliments. Highly recommend this salon. I also purchased their WhizKid hair product which leaves my hair smooth and shiny. Plus, it smells great!
