Ok So, I am not a big makeup person mostly because I never really learned how to put it on beyond foundation. But I needed makeup done for a branding photography session and Nikki came recommended by the photographer I chose. I was amazed at the artistry and flawlessness of her craft on IG, but honestly at the moment, I just thought “okay, cool she’s doing my make-up”. Nikki met me at the photography studio for an on location makeup session (which I highly highly highly recommend), and immediately began to create art. I was turned away from the mirror so I couldn’t actually see the art as it was happening - imagine a painter stepping away from the canvas with a tilted head to get a more objective view of the piece they’re creating - That was Nikki! Being that my face was the canvas, Nikki paid extra special attention around my sensitive areas as she worked (y’all, I do not like things poking around my eyes - LOL). When It came time to reveal the completed look, she guided me to the mirror, making sure my eyes were closed. When I opened my eyes, I was momentarily speechless as I came to recognize the woman in the mirror as myself… “OH WOW… is that ME?!” When I saw Nikki’s art on others via IG, I did not imagine the transformative power this art could have on me. I looked like myself through the eyes of an artist, and energetically, I felt like a brand new person! Nikki was the pre-funk to the magic I was about to create with my photographer! Art is an expression of the way people view the world around them - Nikki, THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR SEEING ME IN SUCH A BEAUTIFULLY POWERFUL WAY!!
