I just started going to this VA and so far the experience has been really good. My care team was really nice and helpful. When I went to the VA for my ID card, lab, immunizations, and an X-ray, I was surprised to find that ALL of the staff was courteous and respectful. I moved through each clinic with no issues and very little waiting. I give this VA a level 4 rating only because there is not enough parking.

Update: I’ve been to this VA now quite a few times and I am still treated kindly and respectfully. I recently had an appointment with the PT/CT clinic and when I arrived, I was directed to another location. When I arrived to the new location, I was informed that I was STILL not in the right spot. At that point I was already 20 minutes late to my appointment. A staff member personally walked me to the correct location and made sure I checked in without issue. The NP for my appointment was very understanding and saw me right away. After my appointment, I received an online survey about the appointment and I filled it out - letting them know about the mixup in locations. Just a few hours after submitting the survey, I RECEIVED A CALL FROM THE VA TO APOLOGIZE FOR THE MISINFORMATION! A veteran, and staff member, called to ask what happened and apologize for the issue at the VA. He said they would fix the problem immediately.
IMO, you can’t get better service than this!!!!

Dorn VA is now a social club. The personnel enjoy their days chatting about personal issues, laughing loudly and having a good old time. The incompetence and unaccountability for their behavior and lack of doing the job is appalling. It is clear that the VA is managed by unqualified people very similar to the country under the current administration. I can only imagine the payroll costs and inefficiency related to this agency. God help us.

I had a baby 2 years ago and I am now drowning in medical bills because the VA failed to do the proper paperwork. I have not had any postnatal care. Wait... it gets better... after having my child, I didn't feel well at all. I had issues with blood clots and a host of other issues. I was having flu-like symptoms and went to urgent care at Dorn. The waiting room was packed. When I went back to see the triage nurse, I was explaining to her that I simply wanted a nasal swab to see if I had covid or the flu and I would just make an appointment and come back because I am breastfeeding and I left my children at home. My right hand to God, I can't make this up... Because I refused to participate in answering any questions, I was "presumed to be suicidal". Security was called and I wouldn't give nurse Page Bryant the satisfaction of thinking he could make me do anything. My purse was taken from me. I volunteered to go to another facility at my own expense. I was assaulted by Nurse Bryant, drugged, kidnapped, and held hostage for 6 days. I had to drop out of school. Nurse Bryant called DSS and had my children removed from my care. I literally haven't seen them since March. When I was released from the hospital I began to request paperwork. They don't have it. My medical records have statements written and signed by people who I never saw that night with nurse Page Bryant being the cosigner. Anyone will tell you that I am an excellent mother and would never dream of committing suicide and leaving my children!

Dr. Pierre is absolutely useless, the mental health department is useless. The vision department is not good. I have had no improvement in my health or any way forward from the VA. This place is trash.

Had a video chat appointment at 0730 with Brittany Kohn, I was set up 15 minutes prior like the instructions say, 0730 came and nobody came to the video chat, I then call appointments to find out what happened and was told I was marked as a no show. I was on my phone waiting for a phone call that never came and to marked me as a no show is wrong. Unfortunately this happens too often at this VA hospital and there is no accountability, when I asked who can I contact to report this negligence I’m told I don’t know, can someone please get off their back side and help us!!!!

3 hours and counting for test results because they are waiting for ambulances to clear rooms?!

Update: 4 hours and still have not been seen. If you are having difficulty breathing and chest pains, go elsewhere!

So not quite sure what these negative reviews are on about but I’ve always had a good experience. All the doctors are super quick getting back to you on the secure messaging through the VA website. Yeah sometimes it takes a while to get an appointment but that’s because the serve so many of us. My suggestion to these negative Sally’s is to show a little gratitude and treat people with decency. Oh and one particular review where they claim a “doctor looked them in the eye and said to go elsewhere” I find difficult to believe.

I am absolutely appalled at the incompetence I have seen at this location. My relative had a scan showing suspected cancer almost a year ago, and despite numerous tests and scans showing abnormalities has yet to receive any kind of care from an oncologist or specialist. When our family tries to call and reach out for more information or next steps, everyone acts clueless or just straight up doesn't care. We have been yanked back and forth by the providers here with some saying he has 9 months to live with a very painful cancer to another saying there isn't cancer it's just an infection that doesn't need to be treated. You would think that a previous veteran (Purple Heart mind you) should get even a basic level of compassion, but apparently not. Never have I been so disgusted by a "healthcare" institution, especially one that is supposed to provide care to people who have served their country.
