I've been cutting my hair with Jimmy for a couple years now, not only is he great achieving realistic hair goals but knows his craft well enough to adapt any want/need to my head shape and texture.

Throughout these past couple years there has been times where I had cut my hair with the other barbers at the shop, and trust me, they are all as skillful and kind.

Monteman Is a welcoming and friendly establishment, everyone always greets me with a smile and the haircuts never disappoint!

By far the best haircut and shop experience I’ve had in the city. I’ve lived in NYC for 3+ years and been to 5+ barbers/salons in that time. The team here actually does intentional consultations at the beginning, and provide recommendations on what would look best for you. Al cut my hair and was so friendly and helpful. I have been a devoted customer to Monteman Barber since the shop first opened. Evan and his team of master barbers are truly the best in the business in a city and neighborhood where there are many options to choose from. Visiting the shop has become a ritual for my family and I. Evan gave my oldest son his first haircut and fast forward 5 years later, our family of 4 boys all get styled by the team. I’d be remised not to mention Jimmy and Geno who are incredibly talented and I highly recommend. The shop integrates old world culture and class with new world style. Lastly, Annie the shop manager adds a sweet touch to the atmosphere but don’t be more than 5 minutes late or you will for sure get a call ; )

I’ve lived in the city for ten years and never found a hairstylist worth revisiting. I just had my first Monteman visit. AL, who cut my hair today, is just 23 but incredibly talented, having worked in Albania, Germany, and NYC. Despite studying accounting, he has been cutting hair for his friends and family since he was younger. Kudos to whoever put the team together. Incredible work. ?

Evan is the BEST! I've been getting haircuts from him for about a year now and he's the only one I trust now to cut my hair; I go as far as commuting from Manhattan.

I had been bouncing in-between barbers in NYC for over a year and a half before I found him, as I couldn't find a barber who could cut thin asian-type hair.

His shop is filled with some of the most charismatic and professional barbers (often offering you water, coffee, etc. during your session). I strongly recommend Evan and his team any day of the week!
